Biotech & Pharmaceutical Company Corporate Partner Billing Datamart & Reporting

Client:       Biotech & Pharmaceutical Company

Project:     Corporate Partner Billing Datamart & Reporting

Executive Summary:

Aviana has designed, developed, deployed and continues to support data warehouse and BI reporting at a Major Biotech & Pharmaceutical company. The Corporate Partner Billing (CPB) data mart is one such important solution. Aviana developed the core application platform used for this project for this client, and it provides a web-based reporting interface for partners' projects, product and cost analysis. The existing system was a combination of a number of manual reports along with a client server application. This CPB data mart and reporting system provides an easier, and more efficient analytical and reporting tool.

What was the Problem?

  • Extremely difficult manual reporting system in place along with an unsupported client server application.
  • Erroneous reporting to corporate Partners.
  • Retirement of the existing client server application since the client wanted to introduce a new web based system.
  • To create a single report the client had to go to multiple departments and resources.

Why Aviana?

Aviana was tasked to design and implement this innovative analytical system based on its well-recognized expertise in using data warehouse and BI technology for providing custom solutions to Fortune 1000 and other large organizations, as well as its functional knowledge of the Biotech & Pharmaceutical sector. In addition, Aviana had prior experience with the design and implementation of other financial data mart and BI solutions.

Aviana's Solution

Aviana analyzed all the related existing systems. Aviana's approach was:
  • Avoiding data duplication and data redundancy.
  • Avoiding misrepresentation of data in different repositories.
  • Reporting of same data globally.
  • Maintaining the same data source (feed) across the organization.
  • Adding new dimension tables.
  • Reducing development time.
  • Eliminating the cost factor related to the hardware resources.
  • Providing client with an optimized and effective solution.
