| Developing Loan Processing System |
| What Was The Problem ? |
| The client did have an archaic Student Loan system that was: |
Based on mainframe technology and lacked the performance and scalability desired. |
Extremely difficult to use and master, |
Required extensive training investment for the customer support reps, |
Performing poorly due to increasing transaction volumes over the past few years from students spread across the nation |
| Why Aviana ? |
| Aviana was tasked to design and implement this innovative system based on its well-recognized expertise in using Microsoft technology for providing custom solutions to Fortune 1000 and other large organizations, as well as its functional knowledge of the Logistics sector, including optimal route planning and freight rationalization. In addition, Aviana had prior experience with the design and implementation of Transportation applications for many clients, over many previous projects, spread over several years. |
| Aviana's Solution |
| Aviana assisted the bank to develop a Student Loan application that processes the student loans much faster and takes full advantage of current relational database technology. The newly designed Student Loan application will help the bank to: |
Process larger volumes of loans; |
Avoiding data duplication and data redundancy |
Provide external agencies, such as loan disbursement and loan-servicing agencies, the ability to interact more directly with the bank; |
Facilitate streamlined operation by being integrated with other applications and various outside agencies via the use of well-defined interfaces (common-line standards), and automated and semi-automated processes; and |
Facilitate faster decision-making through the workflow system incorporated in the system and integration with other banking applications. The new application is being developed using Oracle database, VB, ASP, C, C++ and Actuate for Reporting. The Student Loan application system will be available 24/7 (the old one used to be down for 10 hours each night), and execute at least three times faster than before. The old system had a hard-coded interface with the CQCS backend. |
